Social Media 101

This event is for people who are new to Biznik.com, and members who just aren't sure how to get the most out of this fantastic community.

Biznik provides a powerful combination of social networking technology with face-to-face events. With help from from Biznik cofounders Dan McComb and Lara Eve Feltin, learn how using social media and Biznik's tools can help you strengthen your participation in the Biznik community and grow your business.

After introductions,  the workshop with a 20-minute introduction on Social Media 101, which provides a brief background on trends in technology and marketing that make social networking and Web 2.0 media such a powerful approach for those running a small business. This overview shares some great tools that are available to you, that can complement your Biznik networking.

Then, we'll walk through the five main areas of the site, elaborate on the features as they were designed:

  • Your Profile: self promotion & visibility on the site
  • Events: hosting & attending
  • Membership: using the directory & your Biznik network
  • Biz Talk: online socializing & discussions
  • Articles & Tips: writing, rating & commenting

You will leave with a better understanding of how to use Biznik to be a leader in your sphere of influence.
